Post Toshiba SD-5000
I have a Toshiba SD-5000 1080i Up-Conversion DVD Player.

It has an hdmi input which is nice. DVD's look great on my plasma. The audio output is also excellent. The DVD player also plays divx and xvids on dvd+r, dvd-r, and dvd-rws.

I am pleased with this purchase and would recommend this dvd player.

I use my PS3 or my X-Box or X-Box 360. In that respect I have given away all my dvd players hehehe...

I was using an old Pioneer DVD player up until a few months ago. I bought it in 1999 and wasn't even progressive scan. Had a few playback issues on certain discs ie. loss of audio, counter jumping around. I use a Playstation3 as my main dvd/bluray player now and have no problems whatsoever. It even upconverts my standard dvds.

My first was a Sony DVP-S300 ( I think ) It didn't even have Component out and was still $499...

That died years ago and I just got myself a PS3..

I think VOD saved me over the years in between!

Am I the only one confused here? The SD-5000 has an HDMI *input*?
