Toshiba heats up home entertainment this summer

New lineup includes two models with enhanced design,
sophisticated LED backlight technology and two LCD TV/DVD combination models

Canadians planning staycations this summer can intensify their home entertainment experience with Toshiba of Canada Digital Product Group’s (Toshiba) newest REGZA SV670 series LCD televisions.  These premium REGZA SV670 TVs feature a sleek and striking Infinity Flush Front™ design and Toshiba FocaLight™ LED backlight technology. At the same time, Toshiba is adding two models to its LCD TV/DVD combination options.

Available in 46-inch and 55-inch screen sizes, the REGZA SV670 series is the first Toshiba television series to incorporate FocaLight™ LED Backlight with Local Dimming. Unlike televisions that merely incorporate simple edge lit LED, Toshiba’s patented technology offers a full LED matrix for enhanced brightness uniformity. This feature provides a significantly higher dynamic contrast making blacks darker without reducing the peak white brightness.  Toshiba is taking fast motion picture quality one step further with ClearScan 240™, combining an advanced 120Hz scan rate with Toshiba’s new Backlight Scanning technology to create a 240Hz effect. The result is improved picture clarity while making action-packed movies and sports programming more crisp and clear than the standard 60Hz and 120Hz systems currently available.

The pinnacle of cosmetic design, the REGZA SV670 series is also the first to feature the new Infinity Flush Front™ design which incorporates a solid sheet of antireflective glass across the entire front of the TV. The stunning appearance of the REGZA SV670 series will set a new standard in LCD TV design.

Combining style with substance, the REGZA SV670 series also includes Toshiba’s fifth generation PixelPure 5G™ engine. Boasting the power of a 14-bit internal digital video processor with increased gradation, the PixelPure 5G™ engine results in smoother, clearer images.  Toshiba’s proprietary Resolution+™ technology improves 480i, 480p, and even 720p image detail for enhanced video quality when watching DVDs, TV programs, camcorder videos and even video games that output less than full HD. But image isn’t the whole experience. What about sound? Dolby® Volume addresses the common challenge of inconsistent volume levels when changing channels. Sound coming from TV speakers does not just follow a straight line. Most of it reflects from the TV cabinet, nearby surfaces, the walls, ceiling and floor. Each reflection represents a different path and enters the ears at a different time. Audyssey™ EQ is an advanced acoustical correction system that equalizes your TV’s audio to deliver clear, smooth, distortion-free sound anywhere in the listening area.

The REGZA SV670 series also features four HDMI digital inputs, allowing for easy connection to A/V components with REGZA-LINK™ (HDMI-CEC). InstaPort enables faster HDMI switching between inputs, while a USB Port allows consumers to view JPEG pictures, listen to MP3 audio and watch MPEG-1 & 2 and DivX video all from a single unit. An SD Card Slot permits convenience for viewing JPEG digital pictures by simply taking the memory card from the camera and placing it in the TV.

19LV610U and 22LV610U LCD TV/DVD combination category
Adding to its LCDTV/DVD category, Toshiba introduces 19LV610U and 22LV610U LCD TV/DVD models. The two models join the recently launched 26LV610U to create a full line of screen size availability. Delivering a convenient all-in-one entertainment experience, these units feature premium picture quality with a 16:9 widescreen display and next-generation connectivity with an HDMI input and a PC input that allow the TVs to be hooked up to high-definition devices and a computer. Next generation connectivity also allows the models to support gaming and receive HD broadcasts. WMA, MP3, JPEG and DivX playback provides versatility and functionality in various media formats. With a slim, space-saving design, the 19LV610U and 22LV610V LCD TV/DVD televisions are perfect for the stylish, yet space conscious consumer. 

The 19LV610U and 22LV610U are available in 19-inch and 22-inch screen size models for a suggested list price of $419.99 and $499.99 respectively.
