The RCA terminals where you would connect your component cables to are solid so you should have to worry about breaking a post off, even with monsters ridiculous "turbine connectors".
The unit is a decent size, measuring roughly 14 inches in width, 4 3/4" in height and 1 1/4" in depth. It also has a solid construction feeling weighting in at a decent 4lbs. The steel case that the AV901Comp’s electronics are house in is of solid construction and is finished in what looks to be a mat black paint.
The AV901Comp is built in such a way that it allows you to either have 9 displays running off of its component outputs. Or you may have 8 displays getting fed through its component terminals and have the last component feed going to another AV901Comp to feed another 9 displays, or again have it daisy changed to another AV901Comp if you need to have even more displays running off of the same feed. You can keep daisy chaining until you drop with the CE labs distribution amplifiers because each unit (as the name describes) amplifies the signal so you will have minimal degradation in the image due to cable length.
The AV901Comp specs say it has enough amplification to allow you to have up to 150ft cable lengths running out of it to all of your displays. When I was doing dentists office with these each of the chairs had a small LCD to its self and a set of wired headphones. This required two of the 901Comp’s to get the job done but they worked flawlessly and I didn't measure but I bet a couple of the runs were longer then 150 feet.
All in all the CE Labs AV901Comp is a solid performer and has a good bang for buck ratio as well. I would recommend it for any kind of installation that requires multiple displays running the same source, be it for residential, small business or commercial.
